The Full Season
The Restless Lady II operates everyday from mid-May through October, with fall and winter bluefin trips extending through December. We begin the season with inshore bottom fishing and wreck fishing just 8-10 miles offshore, targeting sea bass, tautog, and flounder.
As waters warm in late May, the shark bite turns on. Mako, thresher, tiger, hammerhead, and blue sharks move through waters 10-30 miles out. By late May, the canyon trips begin — 60 miles offshore where the ocean floor drops from 600 to 5,000 feet, concentrating bigeye tuna, yellowfin, bluefin, and mahi mahi.
Peak season arrives in July with the billfish. White marlin, blue marlin, and wahoo move into the canyon edges. Overnight trips add swordfish to the mix. This is tournament season — the White Marlin Open, Big Fish Classic, and Mid-Atlantic all run during these months.
The season closes strong with the fall bluefin run from October through December. Giant bluefin tuna move through the near-shore waters as temperatures cool, offering some of the most exciting fishing of the year.
